The owl shirts in my Volleybragswag collection were inspired by my love for animals which I know I share with you and as a result I specifically created to inspire right side and opposite hitters.
Since each animal I chose represents one of the basic six volleyball skills in volleyball I thought some of the natural characteristics exhibited by owl were similar to what opposites display on the court.
Let's learn more...
Did you know that owls are masters of camouflage? They can hide right in front of you.
In fact, they can do it so well that they can be right in front of you and you wouldn't see them until it was too late.
Do you know any crafty good hitters who compete like that?
One minute you see them right in front of you...and then the next minute you don't?
Do you know anybody who plays like that in the front row?
Hitters who can be in the front row right in front of you in serve receive but once the whistle blows they're so good at running plays that if you don't pay super close attention they will hit the ball past you in a combo play before you have time to put a block up?
If you do know any hitters like that, I hope they're on YOUR team!
Ollie is the Opposite Hitter on the Volleybragswag All Beast Third Team.
The opposite hitter specializes in playing on the right side of the court and is usually one of the team's best blockers, so they play opposite the setter on the court in zone 2.
Ollie loves playing on the right side and maybe it has to do with being the second tallest blocker on the team.
He builds a wall no hitter can get by because its super difficult to hit past him which is why he averages 3 blocks per set.
That’s Ollie’s swag, what’s yours?
If you haven't found your inspirational spirit animal on this page then be sure to find yours among the Volleybragswag collection of beast competitors in the list below.
