Las Vegas Elite Volleyball Coach: Coach April's Advanced Training Methods

Discover Las Vegas elite volleyball coach, Coach April's advanced techniques, college-prep methods, one-on-one, small group and Breakfast Club college training for serious goal-oriented athletes.

As an elite volleyball coach in Las Vegas, I've dedicated my career to elevating the standard of volleyball training excellence in our city.

After years as a world class outside hitter competing at the pro level in  Italy, and the United States as well as being a pro beach volleyball player having represented the US in competitions all over the world, I decided to introduce MY concept of elite volleyball coaching based on my personal volleyball experiences to the Las Vegas club scene in 2014 when I founded my own club called the Volleycats Elite Volleyball Club and I've been at the forefront of advanced volleyball training methods in the city ever since.

My approach to coaching combines my experience as

  • named to the USA National Team in 1985

  • one of a handful of American women to ever play in an Italian Division I Championship Finals competition where my Reggio Emilia team playing with Paula Weishoff finished second place - 1989/90

Major League Volleyball - the very first women's professional league in the United States in 1987

I'm a former elite world class professional SIX ROTATION player who never came off the court except for one knee injury while on the court during a pro match new York Liberties (my team) vs Dallas.

In addition to the few highlights of accomplishments I named above (there are years more of personal and team accomplishments for indoor and and volleyball), add my time as a USA Volleyball High Performance program coach and evaluator....

....years as an All American summer camp coach and clinician who's been on 30+ D-I campuses as well as conducting my own camps with a 5-time Olympian as a special guest ...

...and that is what helps fuel my ongoing commitment to elevating the training techniques and player accomplishments in the Las Vegas prep and college volleyball community.

College Level Training: What is the Breakfast Club Advantage?

So, what makes training with a Las Vegas elite volleyball college coach different?

I created this type of training with a focus on elevating every aspect of your game:

The Breakfast Club, my signature training program, exemplifies what elite volleyball coaching truly means.

This isn't your average training session – it's a rigorous, college-level program designed to prepare serious athletes for their upcoming college season.

In this article, I'll share how my elite training methods are tailored to help serious high school athletes overcome common hurdles and achieve their volleyball goals.

My transition from player to coach was a journey in itself. While my playing experience gave me a solid foundation, I quickly realized that being a great coach required a different set of skills.

Coaching Volleyball at the USA Volleyball
High Performance Tryouts and Championships

Hi! My name is April Chapple, editor and creator of Improve Your Volleyball. And I'm responsible for alot of players making their varsity high school teams in Las Vegas and surrounding areas.
15 y/o Kami Miner named to 2018 US Girls Youth National Team after three years in the USAHPC pipeline. Trained and played 3 years with Coach April and was a three-year Volleycats Elite VBC member.

One of the most significant milestones in my development was becoming a USA Volleyball High Performance coach and evaluator.

This role not only honed my coaching skills but also gave me insights into the highest levels of the sport, which I could then bring back to my Las Vegas students.

Raising the Bar: Implementing Advanced Training Methods

As my coaching evolved, so did my training methods. I began incorporating techniques I had learned from my time with the USA National Team and as a professional player.

This included advanced strength and conditioning programs, video analysis, and mental performance training.

One of my most successful innovations was the creation of the "Breakfast Club" – an intensive early morning training program designed for serious athletes aiming for college scholarships or professional careers.

This program pushed players beyond their perceived limits, preparing them for the rigors of high-level volleyball.

Today, my journey has led me to become one of Las Vegas' elite volleyball coaches.

My current offerings include:

1. Private and small group training sessions tailored to individual needs and goals.

2. The renowned Breakfast Club program for aspiring college and professional players.

3. College recruitment preparation and guidance.

4. Advanced technical and tactical training for all positions.

What sets my training apart is not just the technical expertise, but the holistic approach. I focus on developing what I call "powerful, peaceful, passionate players" – athletes who are physically strong, technically skilled and mentally resilient.

Building a Legacy: Impact on Las Vegas Volleyball

Looking back on my journey from $5 classes in parks to elite training sessions, I'm proud of the impact we've had on the Las Vegas volleyball community.

Numerous players I've coached have gone on to play at top collegiate programs, with some even pursuing national team and semi-professional careers.

But beyond the individual success stories, I'm most proud of how we've elevated the overall level of Las Vegas volleyball.

The city is now home to competitive club teams, well-attended tournaments, and a thriving volleyball culture that continues to grow.

Conclusion:

My path from offering $5 classes to becoming an elite volleyball coach in Las Vegas has been filled with challenges, learning experiences, and incredible rewards.

This journey has reinforced my belief in the transformative power of volleyball – not just for individual players, but for entire communities

As I continue to evolve as a coach and mentor, my commitment to building Las Vegas volleyball remains stronger than ever.
